RXV sometimes doesn't go fwd or reverse
Hello, first time poster:
Cart details: 2009 EZGO RXV with 1 year old Trojan batteries and brand new solenoid. Background: For about a year, I've had an intermittent problem with the cart not engaging into forward or reverse. After a few cycles of the key into R and F, it will then engage. When the problem started, I replaced the batteries. The problem continued. Then I replaced the solenoid. The problem continued. I checked battery voltage, it's reading 50V. Not sure where to go from here so any help is appreciated. |

Try replacing the key switch.

How about pulling up on the brake and gas pedal to see if it will go.

Re: RXV sometimes doesn't go fwd or reverse
Are you giving it time to run thru it's sequence check...I had the same problem when I first got my 2009 RXV...did not know about sequence check ..so I was too fast in putting key to N then quickly putting it to F or R
Once I got that solved things started again months later...had to replace pedal switch |

Re: RXV sometimes doesn't go fwd or reverse
Great way to troubleshoot a problem, keep buying parts till it gets fixed?? Then you would have two good KS and the problem would not be fixed.
What usgicollector (the guru on RXV on BGW) said, is most likely the problem. The pedal assy can get a lot of dirt collected around the pedals over the years and cause them not to return to Zero position. Either pedal not returning will cause the issue. A clean out of the pedal area and lube the pedal shafts will most likely clear up the problem, without buying parts. |

Re: RXV sometimes doesn't go fwd or reverse
Thank you USGIcollector, I'll try that. I did pull back the floor liner and cleaned the pedal area by vacuuming. And yah, the area was filled with debris. So here's to hoping that's the issue. Time will tell, this problem is intermittent.
Appreciate the feedback from all. |

Too bad you didn't check the pedal switch when you had the floor off....As I said earlier I had an intermittent problem with the pedal switch.
I checked mine by unplugging it...put my ohmmeter across the contacts..and worked the pedal back and forth pushing the armature on the switch in and out....it worked about six times out of ten...I replaced it...no more problems |
