Default Differentials: Electric GC vs Gas GC vs ATV

In general which has the strongest amoung the three?
Also as for the ATVs where would the front differential on a 500cc or larger fit among the three?

I ask this cause alot of ATVs and SxS use a Hilliard front diff which has an outrageous torque rating.

I know the torque delivered by an electric motor far exceeds the gasser. It stands to reason that if there is a difference it would be a stronger set up for the elec.

My ezgo gasser has bigger axles than my ezgo electric. That doesn't mean the differential is stronger though....just means the axles are.

I read where the axle splines can give way on electrics. Don't know if there are any problems with gassers as I don't read much about em.

Looked up the specs on the spicer h-12 as 12lb_ft contineous 48 intermittent. The h-12 FNR for gassers is 24/96lb_ft which seems a bit backwards...don't think a gasser could get close to 48 much less 96lb_fts. Where as the electrics are pushing the 80s.

THe splines on the gassers aren't as problematic as the electrics but it can still strip. It's designed that way.
It's hard to understand why you find it so confusing that the gassers are tougher. It's not like they have 55cc weedwacker engines in them and with the CVTs they can deliver loads of torque to the rearends.

Yeah, forgot about the CVT...thats where the torque shows up and thats why the ATVs are heavy duty.
