Club Car DS 48 volt Series Motor – Plum Quick Bandit
This motor was removed from a project cart exhibiting vibration at mid to high speeds.
I removed the motor and found that the splines on the coupler were worn. Motor Splines.jpg After reading some threads on this forum I ordered a Motor Centering Kit. I installed a new motor bearing and the Centering Kit - the vibration was reduced, but not to an acceptable level. If you have the ability and tools to replace the coupler, I think you will end up with a good motor. This thread has some info on replacing the coupler - Coupler Replacement. Price is $100 plus shipping. Price does NOT include the Centering Kit. |
