I might do that, but only if I find I need even more clearance than just taking off some sidewall material.

Thanks for the helpful photos.

Here are some pictures of the rear left shock mount.

The rear right will hopefully be done tomorrow.

I still need to clean up the welds and grind the outer lower corners of the mount tabs round so as to keep shocks from hitting the tabs.

Also thinking of adding a tab between the two tabs on top and on the back side. This is to strengthen it further.

Welds are not perfect but are still strong.

looks good so far. but i do agree with another member that steering is not good,i done the same thing and it is like 1/2 turn lock to lock way to fast and when you something the wheels go all crazy and flop i think from just the slop in the original steering box. im going to cut and redo mine so its different .

Finished rear end shock mounts, now need to disassemble and prime the rest.

I need to pick up the set of polaris tires still, will get this done soon now that I can call the cart

"A ROLLING CHASSIS"

The shock mounts are not across from each other perfectly (opps), I realized this today after I finished welding it last night in the dark. I don't think this will affect the cart much though.

Next up, the engine.

Removed the floor pan the sheet metal between foot well and the engine compartment. I need to clean up the surface rust, and fix the battery tray by cutting it out and replacing it. The new floor will hopefully be a piece of aluminum diamond plate ($$$). The removal of these pieces of sheet metal have allowed me to get a lot more access to the rest of the cart frame, and will make it easier to install the engine. I am also going to run my wire harness underneath the cart instead of over the floor. How hard is is to remove the rest of the sheet metal from the front of the cart (1984 EZGO Marathon).

Some Pictures

How close is this under full spring compression? I would fix it.

The picture is misleading, the shock is not actually that close to the upper a-arm. They should never touch, it is basically the stock geometry of the original machine. I have been measuring and comparing to one of the polaris' at my cabin ('03 Sportsman 700).

Do you know of a good website to buy low priced diamond plate from?
