Thumbs up Thank you guys! Choke problem fixed!

I am a first time cart guy. I have always had a Gator or quad or Jeep or... I decided to get a cart so my wife and 4yr old can put around our property. I found a local Yamaha G22 for a good price. We drove it around for a while then filled it it with fresh gas. It immediately started acting funny. It only ran when the choke was on all of the way. I knew (I thought) it was a fuel air mixture problem. I know how to work on cars and bikes, so I thought no problem. I checked the gas lines first- no problem. Vacuum was good. Checked the plug for fouling- no. I checked the cap next- no. I made sure the air box was snug. I cleaned the carb w/ B12 and a small wire. I looked at the fuel pump and made sure it was flowing. I was at a loss. A simple google search led me to you guys. I read for hours trying to overlap common problems with mine. I decided my carb was dead or needed to be rebuilt. I am out in the country, so I had to drive a bit to get parts. (RMI in Kansas City was great!) I will order from sponsors from now on. I decided to just buy a new carb and pump and line and plug and gaskets and... i got home and replaced all of it and it runs like a champ. I already did the 10mm bolt tightening on the governor for more speed. I love the cart and think I am hooked.

Thanks to all for the good info. I am a member now. This site was much more informative than a few of the other forums. I hope I can help in return sometime down the line!
