Re: Gas parcar bearing problem
Just got back and took some pictures of the engine. I was told that it would be better to replace the engine instead of taking it all apart. It is the bearings front and back, but once we pull it apart there could be other problems and for me that would not be worth fooling around with. We were also wondering how long has this cart been running with lose bearing.
Now what kind of engine can I get to replace this one. What will fit? Thanks Sandra |

Re: Gas parcar bearing problem
On that year year cart your pretty much limited to the motor thats in it unless you want to do alot of fab work.

Re: Gas parcar bearing problem
Oh geeeezzzzzz...don't need anymore bad news...Would it be better to rebuild this motor? At least I won't have to do alterations.
Or take the chance that it is only the bearings and nothing else.. A kit is a few hundred dollars...plus what ever it cost to have someone do it...is it worth it?? Sandra |

Re: Gas parcar bearing problem
Thats better news...I got mine for 300. I knew that i was going to have to put in some more money...but i didn't think it was going to be that much.
I am still going to look around...maybe I can find a used motor...Hubby is not into doing these things anymore...he would rather pay someone else do it for him. He has Diabetes and his feet and legs get sore...that was the whole idea for the golf cart...so he wouldn't have to do so much walking at camp. If I can't find a used motor I will get the kit and have someone do it for me... You have been a great help....and very encouraging...Thanks you helped make my buggie days a little more brighter... Re: Gas parcar bearing problem
I am not sure where you are located, but sometimes their are some deals on electric carts in this area on craigs list (Chicago). If you have the time to check it a few times a day and see it first you can get lucky.

Re: Gas parcar bearing problem
Sandra, STOP STOP RIGHT NOW, you keep talking about a loose bearing and that it is shaking, I do not know of any engine that will run with "bearings" that loose.
I need the pictures and I think you have a bad drive clutch. The "strap?" are you talking about the drive belt? |
