Looking ahead 36V vs 48V
I have an old 80's Columbia 36V cart, and I purchased one of those Chinese Curtis branded 1205 controllers after starting to have some issues with the old solenoid/resistor system. Those controllers can be programmed for 36 or 48V, and I got to thinking about future upgrades. I was looking at the main contactor, and the reversing contactor, and started wondering if I could use a 48V to 36V step down to continue using those 36V contactors if I were to upgrade to 48V in the future. Or, do I just get 48V now and drop a pile of cash on batteries. I'd guess I have a few years left in the 36V batteries, and am not wanting to upgrade them quite yet.

You may want to call ScottyB at Carts Unlimited about this?
