Default Lithium conversion on 2006 ezgo 36v

New member here just wanting to know if the Allied battery’s lithium conversion kit is worth the money ($1500). (3) 12V 60AH batteries with BMS charger is separate?

They say,

Opportunity charging – this means you can top off your Lithium Batteries any time you want without harming the batteries (just like your cell phone.) You can’t do this with Lead Acid without damaging and reducing the life of the batteries.

Any truth at all to this?

One of the lithium gurus will have to jump in, but this looks like a reasonably priced option considering it’s pretty much plug and play. I feel like I came fairly close to this number for my preassembled pack from ev. Taxes and shipping are going to add up too, but it may be worth it for some.

It should probably be posted in the lithium section to get the experts on it.

35-40 mile range on these batteries seems like they were going down hill the whole time lol

Seems pretty legit from all of my research. I recently did a Nissan Leaf battery conversion. To be clear, I'm no expert. Here are my thoughts...

I have not put many miles on mine. Maybe 15, so I can not speak to range, as far as real world results. However, my pack of 14 modules is rated to be 120 AH if the batteries had been new. From what I am seeing from other folks on here, with the same pack as me, 50 miles is a good range. So I would question their claims for range on their packs. Hopefully folks with some real world experience will chime in.

They say their BMS will protect the batteries in low and high voltage situations, but they don't say how. From what I've seen there are 3 ways to do this. Software, relays or contactor. From all the gurus on here and other places I've looked, relays and contactors are the preferred method. You might want to find out how they are doing it.

There is truth to this. I received my batteries on 08/08/18. I checked the voltage then, it was 56v. I have yet to charge them, have run about 15 miles and my voltage is showing 54.2.

I was asking if there was any truth to the statement above, where that say opportunity charging FLAs would "damage" and "reduce the life".
