Body removal
How hard is it to remove the body off my 01 club car have some cracks on the fenders that I would like to fiberglass and think it would be a lot easier to do while the body is off as I could do it from the under side

Re: Body removal
Its not too bad.... it just takes time...
First for the rear body.. 1. you can pull the top off and the seats off at the same time, but that must be done first....total of around eight bolts(give or take 2, cause i cant remeber quite what the 2000's set up looks like). 2.then there are two bolts under where a golf bag would sit in the back, and two more on the bottom of the body where your feet sit when you drive. 3.Also all the bolts that hold the forward/reverse switch and charger receptical (if electric) Then for the front cowel.... 1. Remove the front bumper and you will see either pop clips or bolts holding the body to the frame.. 2. then there are a few tiny flat head or philips screws(or 8mm heads) where the body meets the trim above the glove boxes and down the side all the way to the floor of the cart... just be sure not to back those all the way out cause there a pain in the *** to get back in if they come all the way out! that should be it........ |

Body removal is easy but you are misinformed. You have a plastic moulded body on an 01. Glass fibre repair techniques simply wont be effective. Read here :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Club_Car Not definitive by any means but a rough idea |

Re: Body removal
I use plastic epoxy from Napa. Repair the crack from the back side. Rough it up so it will have something to grab to. I also use the mesh for repairing drywall, put a couple layers on the put epxy over it. The outside crack I grind out and repair with fiberglass.

Re: Body removal
I had to remove my 03 and I just started taking screws out that looked like they were holding the body and it didn't take much time at all. The front was the trickiest. Once you get the windshield off it is pressed in along the top.
Thanks |
