Default Need some diagnostic help

It's been a few years since I have been on here and this is my first time posting in the electric cart side of the house.

I bought my wife a 36V cart and it gets used everyday. Now it has problems and I don't want to fire a parts cannon at it so I'm in need of help.

First off, I don't even know what model I have. The pictures should show you what you need to tell me what I have.

The cart died and I was able to determine that the reed switch was bad, and after pricing a new switch I did a toggle switch by-pass and all was good for a while. I used 18 ga wire for the reed by-pass and after 2 weeks, the wire burned up. I replaced the burned wire with 14 ga and was back up and running.

A few days later the cart lost forward and only went in reverse. I cleaned the contacts on the selector switch as well as all the battery connections and got forward back but at a reduced speed. The cart ran for a day or two and now it's dead in both directions.

Battery voltage is 37.2 When I step on the pedal I can hear the relay click. The micro switches on the FWD/REV switch are all closed no matter the position of the selector. I can actuate the micro switch by hand and it still remains normally closed. I have battery voltage at every terminal of both micro switches regardless of sector switch position.

I've read all the diagnostic stickys and without knowing exactly what cart I have, I'm still kind of lost and need help.

Get your meter out with the negative on pack negative and pedal pushed enough to click check the controller side of the solenoid and make sure it is pack voltage. If yes check on M-. If there press the press the pedal further and see if the voltage goes down. Also in F the orange wire on the fnr switch should only have power in reverse.

The cart is a TXT. The reed switch can be bypassed no problem. Just be aware that its function is to keep the cart from being operable when the charger is connected. So take precautions like running the charge cord thru the steering wheel to prevent the cart from being used when charging.

Replace your F&R switch. It will come with new micro switches. FYI. The switch on the drivers side is closed in F&R open in neutral. The switch on the pass side is closed in R open in neutral and F

Everything checks out good except I have power on the orange wire in both F&R.

Thanks Scotty, I'm the only one that charges this cart and I was aware of the reed switch's purpose but I like the idea of running the charge cable through the steering wheel.
The micro switch on the passenger side is closed no matter what.

Thanks for all the help. I'll be replacing the F&R switch, I just sent you the order. My wife says thanks.
