36v TXT vs 48v Club Car Series Motor
I recently acquired this amazing work of art for $50 on a government auction site, thinking for that price I can chop it up and make a 6 seater out of it one of these days and just swap the electronics out of my current cart. Well upon arriving home I noticed that it has an EMP motor for a 48v club car in it and I'm assuming the matching rear end. I've emailed EMP the serial number and they said it's just a stock replacement with no upgrades.
My question is would it be worth while repairing the brushes and whatever else may be wrong with the EMP motor? Or would the gain be negligible and just stick with the 36v Metalist/TXT motor? I've already upgraded everything in the Metalist to 48v. |

Re: 36v TXT vs 48v Club Car Series Motor
IMHO CC series 48v motors are not very good. So I would scrap it, especially if the plans are for added seating and weight in the CC.
The Medalist 36v can be run on 48v with better results if it is SERIES drive (no run/tow switch) |

Re: 36v TXT vs 48v Club Car Series Motor
Hi Scottyb,
Are the 48v club car series different than the 36v that we typically run at 48v ? Just curious since my old 36v ran really well at 48v :) It was still running great when i swapped it for a plum quick... Thanks Mike |

Re: 36v TXT vs 48v Club Car Series Motor
Is a 36v Ezgo motor different than a CC 48v motor? Yes. The CC 48v produces little speed and torque. The Ezgo 36v motor produces more torque, especially on 48v.
The CC 48v motor would be best with a rope tied to it and a boat. |

Re: 36v TXT vs 48v Club Car Series Motor
Well I'll probably end up taking the motor out of the rear end and making this auction cart a tagalong trailer with additional seating to pull behind my current cart.

I'm just saying I would not swap rear ends in the Ezgo just to put that motor in. |
