Default Dakota lithium 3x12v 60ah

I recently bought some Dakota lithium batteries, 3x12v 60ah. They have 1000cca each with supposedly eliminates the shut down under loads. I have a 2000 Ezgo txt, pds. I hooked everything up and got a HUGE arc putting my main ground on the last terminal, it blew up my diodes on the solenoid. What is weird is that the resistor and diode set was on a board that you would normally see on a DCS cart. Toggle rev or forward switch on dash with a 1206 mx curtis controller with freedom chip installed, so its definitely a PDS cart. I replaced the resistor and and diodes and get nothing now. I realized when I took the cover off the controller I had not switched it to tow mode before un hooking the 4 wire prong from the run/tow switch to the controller. I guess my question is does anyone know if I ruined my controller thats why I get nothing now?

Sounds like maybe you hooked up the battery backwards if you blew the diode on the solenoid. I'm almost sure you took out the controller. NEVER connect or disconnect the battery without putting the cart in TOW mode.

I know, bummer I spaced on that one, they are not hooked up backwards, I checked that about a million times, especially after blowing diodes, thats what makes sense. Im guessing now since I have nothing at all controller must be wasted. Thanks for input!

Have you measured voltages?

I did, all 3 batteries still measure 13.60 across all 3 is is 40.8, but only on the posts not used when wiring in series. If measuring from posts used its only 27.2 across all 3, which I found strange. After that I am unsure of what to look for at the controller/solenoid, these diagnostics is what I need to learn from the knowledgeable ones here.

Sounds like one of your batteries is shut down. Measure each one at the posts used one at a time.

Each one still measures 13.6, but when checking 1st battery to second inline is still is at 13.6, then first to third is 27.2 so is my middle shut down? I have all brand new cables and terminals are tight.

Something is not right! Not sure how you are measuring what you are but I would disconnect the batteries from each other and measure at the terminals again. One is shut down and probably mostly open circuit.

Ok i think It might be my middle battery. I did not disconnect when measuring so I guess I'm getting voltage from 1 and 3 when measure number 2 by it self. When im home tonight I will un hook and measure, if its got nothing I will throw it on the charger to wake it up, I think that's how you take it out of shut down. Would it have shut down because of trying to hook up while, Controller is drawing power since I didn't turn to tow mode?

The big spark was a lot of current - could have shut down the BMS.
