Re: locked diff
Unfortunately the Plowmans unit is for the G16 on up.
Folks have welded the spiders up, some love it and some don't. Pros are obvious, the con's include increased turning ration and of course the possibility that something lets go after welding and grenades the rear end. Here's a good thread on the topic, there are others: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...ol-system.html Here's some pics of the spiders welded up in a G9 carrier. I did not weld this, but as I understand it is not for the novice. The parts need to be squeaky clean and should be pre-heated before welding, and you have to know what you are doing welding on these parts. |

Re: locked diff
thats perfect as i am not a novice... lol. actually these replies were perfect, the pics are great and that thread gave me all the info i need basically. really what i wanted to know was whether the components could hold up and it sounds like they will. the thread was mainly clubcar but im assuming the diffs are similar. thanks

No problem Dusty! Just had me confused?? Good luck with your project, and be sure to take and post lots of pics if you lock them up! Sounds like you know your way around a welder
