power spring install. something went wrong!!!
I have a 1999 g-16 and up till now I could go 37 mph . I have installed a speed spring on the gov. and I also put a 7" dual A - arm lift on it with 22 " tires. Well I wanted a little more torque so I installed a power spring in the driven clutch. Now the cart goes maybe 16 mph and as far as torque goes its not at all as good as it was. I down loaded the directions off of this site along with having the ones that came with it. I followed them to a tee. It was a pain in the *** getting the outer sheave off but it came off with a puller like suggested in the instructions. The only thing I can think of is that I used alot of wd40 soaking the half moon key and the shaft itself during the take off and maybe the sheaves got really coated and I am having belt slippage. Some told me to get a smaller belt but would that work? PLEASE HELP...
