Default Valve Adjustment - early 80's 2 cycle

There is a good thread http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/ezgo-...djustment.html on doing valve adjustment but it is for a newer engine (I can't tell which). How would I do the same thing for a earlier 1980's 2 cycle?

Please let me know. Thanks

two cycle engines lack any type of valve train. They do not have intake/exhaust valves. Air flow is controlled by the piston covering & uncovering holes,or ports, in the cylinder wall.

Greg, thank you very much for the info. I'll just put my little pointy hat on and sit in the corner.

So is taking a 2 cycle engine apart a lot easier? No cam shaft, valves, timing gears, etc? Is there anything else you have worry about on these?

If you bought a new complete engine rebuild kit, is it pretty easy to bolt this all back together and basically have a new engine?

Two strokes are very simple to work on. No timing issues. :)

You can borrow my dunce hat. You mind some sweat marks?

I've heard you have to have the cases pressed on / off, but the top end is super easy stuff.
