1986 G2 has power to solenoid but maybe not enough?
Cart stopped running last week. So I decided to just go ahead and replace the starter and solenoid just because they appeared to be the originals. After that the cart started briefly and then stopped working again. Negative fuse was blown and once I replaced that, still the same issue. Solenoid doesn’t even click. On thing that I have found is that when I put my volt meter on both small posts it reads about 1.5 volts lower than what my battery reads. Could this be the issue? A weak connection somewhere? How many volts need to travel through the smaller posts before the solenoid activates? Battery is in good working condition and fully charged.

The voltage at the solenoid should be exactly the same as at the battery. I'm thinking you have corrosion on the cable ends and/or battery terminals. Could also have corrosion in the actual cables, which you would not see. It's a good practice to replace the main cables when you are seeing corrosion.

There honestly seems to be zero corrosion what so ever! But maybe I’ll just go ahead and replace the wires...

Take a utility knife and cut away some of the plastic insulation on the cables. See if there's any corrosion inside.

You can just run some temporary supplemental wires right over top of the ones you have now. Heck, I have a stash of such wires with alligator clips on this for this very reason. If it runs good on the temporary wires you know what your issue is so go ahead and replace the ones that need replaced. If it doesn't run any better then your issue is elsewhere. I don't know G2s at all so cant help with any specifics.
