Bought my first cart last weekend!
It's a 2001 Ezgo TXT lifted with 22" tires and 10" wheels along with the rear seat. I have a few questions for the Ezgo guru's on this forum.
1. the battery wires have been upgraded to 4awg and that's all. Do I need to continue the 4awg wires to the controller and then to the motor? 2. the cart seems really slow going up hills even on a full charge, flat ground speed and going down hill is good though. I'm assuming this is due to the larger tires and the 05' Trojan batteries. Would you agree? 3. If I wanted to get more torque and keep the current top speed what is the best way? I'm also in the process of fabricating a new brush guard and will post pics of that project later. thanks for looking. |

Congrats to both of you on your first carts. I haven't had mine but a few months. Lots of fun building and playing with.

Re: Bought my first cart last weekend!
1 - Yes - you need to have EVERY cable upgraded to 4 gauge to get the benefits...
2 - See above 3 - See above + make sure you have a good set of batteries. You could also upgrade to a 400 amp controller. Cables are a MUST. All our lifted TXT's get a full set of batteries and a full set of 4 ga cables. That's enough for most of the terrain and loads you'll throw at it |

Re: Bought my first cart last weekend!
I see by the photo it is a series cart. To add torque and maintain the speed, a 400amp controller would be my next purchase.
