FE290 Engine Limitations
I've eliminated the governor and rev limiter on my 1992 Club Car with an FE290 motor and plan on installing a tach.
What are the maximum rev's I can run this motor and for how long ? Trying to learn more about these golf cart engines and want to know what I can and cannot do. Thanks, |

Re: FE290 Engine Limitations
4200 rpms should a safe, full throttle rev before the valves start to float,
Some here may run theirs higher for short full speed bursts! For a 92, with the original FE290 engine, you may not want to run much over 4200! my .02 |

Re: FE290 Engine Limitations
Agreed. I would not hold it there for long either.....The motor is 17 yrs old and NOW you are about to rev it up higher than it has ever been before. Be alittle careful
