Default Heim Joint Replacement

I'm going to replace all hemi joints on my Jakes long travel.
Other than taking measurements of existing hemi. Is there any tricks to adjustment ?
Thanks

Just compare the old with the new and mark the length the of the installed ones so you can get the new ones adjusted the same. I usually count threads or use a caliper to measure the center of the bolt in relation to the nut.

After replacing all hemi joints with FK hemi joints and a set of 40.00 atv shocks off ebay suggested per Slo. Have the tightest and quietest L.T. have ever had. Thanks Slonomo
Took a little fine tuning but turned out perfect.

Waiting for a little warmer weather to try it off road. Riding around the yard think its going to be good. Shocks are a little softer than Jakes, but I can stiffening them up if needed. What problem I had with Jakes is leaking after couple years.
Jakes are probably not built for the use I give them. Mine has never seen blacktop.
The new hemi joints took out all the slack and rattle. Which was a big improvement.

You'll find the quality of the atv shocks is stellar. Which ones did you go with?

You keep calling it a Chrysler engine. Stop doing that. It is a HEIM joint.

You happen to have part numbers of the HEIM joints you purchased to replace the old ones?

Thanks H.K. guess hemi was stuck in my mind from the mid 60s drag racing days.
Went with the Suzuki LT400.
Spindle are 1/2 x 1/2-20 RH
wish bone / A-frame ? 7/16 x 7/16 = 20 RH

If you find those LTZ400 shocks are too soft you could try some KFX700 front shocks, they will be heavier and stiffer. It's a little bigger and heavier quad and if i remember they were pretty beefy shocks. The suspension on the KFX700 was designed by Dave Roll of Roll Designs, he makes racing suspension parts.
