The diagram looks right to me. Ive done this on several different vehicles from carts to man lifts. The only things I can think to be sure of is:
1. The module is actually good
2. The pulsar is working. (hook a voltmeter to it and spin the motor, if the voltage jumps its probably good. I dont know of any other way to check the pulsar.)
3. Make sure the back of the module is grounded good or it wont run. Bolt through that bolt hole on the right side to ground.
4. Switch the pulsar wires around
.....thats about it. Its got to have plenty of power to fire so you might try running a hot wire to batt + to test.

W&G to pulsar, C to - on coil and B to batt + is about it.

I know when I did this to my 2 stroke it made a noticeable difference on start-up when changing the pulsar wires around.

I haven't taken the time lately to try to get the HEI Module working.

The coil works as pictured and I have tried the suggestions above...

Except I may need to try a better grounding method I originally tried it by just bolting a ground wire to it. I also need to try running the wires direct and skip the factory harness. Originally I was trying a modified 4 pin plug into the factory harness.

I'll try to get back to it before too long.....

Ok, so it seems to run good with that coil setup?

The coil runs good. I'm not sure that it runs any better than the original but it is/was cheaper.

I need to find the time to try the HEI module again....

Yeah, I finished up friday. I used the MSD base like MCfooter (had to put silicone over terminals on bottom side of base because terminals would had shorted to ground) but instead of ACCEL coil went to autozone and bought a coil for a 1990 buick century 4cylinder. Mounted it to existing bracket and worked like a charm. Paid $10.99 for the MSD base from ebay and $25.99 for the coil

MC,
Did you ever get your's running right? I too did the conversion on my 295, mine will run in neutral at very low speed but at full throttle it just sputters. Can someone let me know if the pulsar could be causing this? or is one of those all or nothing parts?
