K5 Blazer Rear Tube Bumper & Tire Carrier Build
This is a rear tube bumper I built for my friends K5 Blazer. Thought some of you fab guys would enjoy the pics even though its not really a cart!

you definately have hella mad fab skills! maybe add a rear corner protector to keep from busting out the tail lights...AGAIN!! Looks awesome as usual Xtreme.

That is suweeeeeeeeeet! like the fact it gives you some way to mount and dismount those big meats a little easier.really nice job

Turned out great!! Love how the tire is basically on the ground when dismounting!

I like it, built something similar for a suburban a few years back.
I had a spare on one side and fuel/tools on the other. Spare was on the outside. I made a holder/mount with 6 lugs and a piece of plate so the lug nuts were on the back against the truck to keep the thieves away. Then I always had spare lugs with me. (broke quite a few in that wagon) I put a receiver tube on mine so I could attach a vise at normal working level, it also made a nice foot to keep tools and what not out of the mud. You may want to swap the upper bolts for trailer hitch pins to allow for quick disconnect and theft prevention. You can buy them in matched pairs. I really like the captured spare idea you may be able to put a gas can / tool rack on each side. If you buy metal cans you can cut one open on the side and make a tool box out of it and no one's the wiser. Looks awesome as is though! |
