Default Batteries on 48volt 2003 DS Club Car

Okay, so we fully charged the batteries and all six show 8 volts or better. We, me being the only passenger, drove it for twenty minutes around the parking lot using the inclined portions as much as possible to place extra load on the battery usage and by that time the cart barely climbed the hill.....checked the batteries again and four of the six still read 8 volts and two read less with one at 7.9 and the other at 7.6. This issue began a few weeks ago and we found two battery cables that had cracked at the terminals. We replaced both with NEW cables and the same thing still happens after driving for fifteen or twenty minutes. We replaced the 7.6 with a new 8volt from Sam’s. I’m thinking that the cracked terminals on the old cables had caused charging issues but now they’re coming back at 8 volts. Is it possible that the other five batteries need replacement? We’re charging the cart now and are waiting to see if the NEW battery will help alleviate the issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

8 volts or better ?....an 8 volt battery is DEAD at 8 volts …..should be almost 8.5 after charge (and a 12 hour rest)….

and usually , you replace ALL batteries as a pack....

hook up you meter so you can see it while your driving and give us the pack reading under load....

How old are the remaining batteries? What is the total pack voltage after the charger shuts down? Even if the pack can be fully charged, the batteries ability to do work degrades with age.

Yes, 8V means dead. Make sure there is enough distilled water in them and do a few charges and driving cycles and see if they get better. Is your meter right? What did the new ones read on your meter? See the comments in the other recent battery thread.
