Default Need Help On A 20hp Vanguard Swap!!!

I have a G2 Yamaha and I really would like to put a 20HP Vanguard motor in. I do have alot of questions, but my main one right now is how the hell the drive clutch comes off!! It is a 4 stroke and I have so far taken the clutch cover off and taken the weight assembly off, but the starter belt pulley is still on. Do I have to buy a special clutch assembly for the Vanguard motor? I assume the starter belt pulley on the G2 is pressed on the crankshaft?

If you get the kit from Tom at CPP, you don't have to do any of that. The new engine comes ready to drop in and go!!

Well I have a used 20HP Vanguard already but need to know where or what I have to do to get a clutch and put it on. Also just so everyone knows...I am a rookie at this cart stuff. I am very mechanically inclined and can fix about anything but need guidance and advice!! Also...what is CPP?

Well I would post pics, but I just took the original motor out and the cart is on stands in the garage....Definately will when the swap is done!! Do you guys recommend a certain clutch to go on the Vanguard? Also, I have an 18 HP Honda with electric fuel pump also....which engine do you think is the best for the cart? I am only doing this in vengeance towards my Brother-in-Law as he is building one also for the 4th of July weekend and he is one of those guys who talks so much bull you see the sh!t come out of his mouth!! Time to put the man in his place when I run circles around him. Oh yeah....will I need to fabricate mounts for the "new" engine or should it just bolt in? I do not have the motor in my garage currently as it's at my Father's house 60 miles away so I cannot just see if it mounts right up for now. I appreciate al you "buggers" out there helping me!!

Get a Comet 780 style clutch for the honda. I don't think it will bolt right in without mods...or alot of fabrication. I'm not too familair with those yamis.

Your cart will need to be lifted for clearance in the engine compartment and
You will have to fabricate an engine mount. Neither engine will bolt right in.
I would use the Vanguard with a 780 clutch.

Click here and you can get some idea of what you will need. >http://www.cartpartsplus.com/18-hp-v...-g-2-9-14.html
