Re: removing rear body
There are 4 more screws that keep the entire assymbly to the body. Remove them and your good to go. You can see them from out side the cart facing the shifter.

Re: removing rear body
The screw just holds the handle on. There is a flat on the rod and
the handle slips over that. Sometimes these handles will slip right off and other times not so easy. I have had to cut them off some times. They are not all that expensive. I had rather cut them off than to break the shifter unit. |

Re: removing rear body
Try prying on the peice inside the engine bay. That would give some force to get that handle off.

Re: removing rear body
just thinking out loud ,what if you use a pickle fork you could tape around the shifter to keep from scratching your body ,the fork would probably force it straight out instead of at an angle.

Re: removing rear body
thanks for all the ideas guys. i ended up wanting that thing off yesterday so i could work on painting it. i drilled little holes trying to go as close to possible to the shaft. it ended up taking about 6 or 8 holes some wd 40 and still quite a bit of prying but it finally came off. ill probably put some black caulk in the holes or eventually get a new one. thanks again
