Precedent Pre-wire
Just curious! Why would Club Car pre-wire the Precedent for lights to draw from one battery if they weren't completely satisfied this method would be sufficient? Is a voltage reducer really necessary?

Re: Precedent Pre-wire
I think two of the things you have to consider is costs of production and warrantee. Look at it from a manufacture's point of view. Will it work for the duration of the warrantee? Yes. Is it the best possible solution? No.

Re: Precedent Pre-wire
Scotty addressed it best but I'd add the following... Club Car also changed from 2004 to 2008 in the Precedents 4 12 volt batteries. In 2009 they have returned to 6 8 volt batteries since many complaints of lower run times, (less lead means less run time for the most part.) My point is just because CC did it one way didn’t make it the right way, and time will be the ultimate answer to your question. Common sense dictates that pulling from all batteries will be your best solution for the longevity of your batteries.

Re: Precedent Pre-wire
Thank you, scottyb and scubabud, for you clear and concise replies. That makes complete sense! Since I am going to be running only lights and no other accessories, and since I have more time and energy than money; in order to keep the batteries "equal", would it be advisable to rotate a different battery to the "pull" position every couple of months or so (remembering to place switch in "tow" and unhooking the main battery cables?)
