stops running
hello all my dad has a 1998 ezgo 295 engine he has a problem when he is driving down the road it will stop periodically sometimes it will run for a mile sometimes 3 miles. Sometimes just when you go to start it up it won't start up. We have changed all fuel lines and the vacuum line. We put new fuel and air filters, fuel pump and spark plugs in it. It still does it the only way to get it to run is to unscrew the fuel line that is leaving the fuel pump crank it over til fuel comes out of the pump and hook it back up can someone explain why it does this? and how to solve this? thanks

Re: stops running
Have you checked the line that comes from the crackcase to the fuel pump. It pressurizes the pump... maybe a leak in that line? Or a lack of pressure after the cart warms up... is there a bad caankcase seal?

Re: stops running
Be sure your fuel tank is vented. Usually the cap has a vent hole. It sounds like it's creating a vacuum in the tank and when you open the line, you vent the tank. This has happened to me, runs great, stops and won't start, after some time the tank will vent and it will run again. Let us know if that helps.
