Hey Spingbok, you just helped me out with my CC fuel tank question and I just noticed you're from Ohio. If you need parts there is a guy up by toledo called Ricards Repairs. Helped me out a couple of times with my previous build. Maybe you already know about him, but thought I'd mention it to you.

BTW, I have an old torn apart motor from a 91. I assume its still good but I have no idea. I also have the one in the 85 I just bought. Is there a market for these motors?

Thanks for the info! I'll file that. Yeah this thread was from many years ago when I was a golf cart newbie...lol

As far as a market for these motors, there are many people who come to this forum looking for KF82 motors. But I wouldn't call it a thriving market. People who want these motors are few and spread far between. I do have a guy in my Campground who has an '85 and is looking for a replacement motor.

The main issue that really kills these motors seems to be the failure of the crank & rod. Failure is usually preceded by a rod knock that can last a surprisingly long time before actual failure. I've had a few, including the one in my '87 that this thread was started for back in 2012.

I just rebuilt the motor in my '90 last month for a similar issue. I sent the crank out to J&M Golf Carts and they machined my crank and a new rod together and sent the rotating assembly back to me for a charge of $165. Motor is back up and running great now.

I might be interested in the KF82 engine/parts (I have a 91 CC). First post so not sure how to contact you? Thanks.
