Volt/ammeter?
Read all the old threads and wondered if anyone found a decent ammeter lately, for use on our carts. A volt/amps would be great. but all the ones I have found are either as weatherproof as you shorts or only rated to -10c I have looked at electrical supply houses too but will need their customer assistance to find the right components.

Re: Volt/ammeter?
Searched sponsors first, and came up empty. If anyone has a link to one here, do tell. Did find one made by Blue Seas. Listed as volt/amp meter- 8248. Sorry, I don't know to post/link it here but hoping someone more computer literate will. Think it might be of interest to other sparky owners/builders. Thanks.

Re: Volt/ammeter?
I maybe didn't mention it before,, I am a "lightning rod" for every made in china POS. They **#$up 1 in a 1000 units of an item, I'll get it. To avoid going insane, I have to buy stuff from a reputable company.

Re: Volt/ammeter?
Yeah ,I'm not sure what he was thinking either. The meter I am looking at is 100v 500a DC. Spoke with the company yesterday, and it is the outgoing model and he said there are capacitors in it that can be affected by the cold. The new model is rated to 40 below. Course, hard to find overstocks or clearance prices on the new one.

Re: Volt/ammeter?
55 degrees here today! Not normal! Who cares? Started install. Needed a shielded twisted pair wire for the ammeter but that stuff is Rare in Dundee! Found a pair in my stash so I twisted it more and wrapped it with foil tape, put a ground on it and wrapped the whole thing with linesmans tape. Anyone see any problems with this? It is not too big of a deal if I have to change it later. A few pics.
