Cart goes, slows down, foot off pedal goes again
Ok guys, need your knowledge, Club car 2006 IQ. Cart will go and get it, then dies out to a slower speed. I can let off pedal and step on it again and it goes some and then will slow down. If I dont mash the pedal it seems to cruise normal and at a decent pace, but not wide open, but if I mash it for more speed it slows again.
Toughts? MCOR or Soleniod? or both or am I asking too much of stock components (controller) with large tires and back seat. Or could it be the batteries are bad and cant handle the load? Batteries did sit and were low voltage when i got the cart but I got them back to 50+ volts. Will the Controller just fry or will it go into a limp mode so to speak when more amperage is needed? I dont care if I fry the controller, but wasnt sure if it was doing something |

So just connect to solenoid and mash pedal and see what reading is correct? |

Correct. If the voltage isn't dropping there it's either a wiring issue from the motor to the controller of the controller or motor but you can rule those out one by one with the same clips o. The motor Connections or controller outputs.

Re: Cart goes, slows down, foot off pedal goes again
Turn the cart off. Pump the gas pedal 20 or 30 times. A lot of times if it’s a failing MCOR this will help.
If it keeps going but just slows down I doubt it’s a solenoid. Solenoid is on, or off. If it would cut out completely and coast to a stop, unless you released the pedal and stepped on it again then it would go then it might be a solenoid. But if it’s just slowing down, it’s very very unlikely it’s a solenoid issue. I also had a cart with a failing speed sensor that acted similarly. Also assuming this is a DS, look through the hole on the back side of the accelerator pedal. You’ll see a little horizontal rod that’s part of the pedal just under the floor. These pedals wear out and you’ll see a space between the pedal rod and where it presses. This space can also cause similar types of concerns. I wrapped a little piece of fuel line around mine with a zip tie so it doesn’t have any space anymore and it’s been perfectly fine for about 2 1/2 years since I did that. If what I’m describing doesn’t make sense I can try and take a picture later tonight and upload it here. |

Yes a DS. Hmmm ill have to look what you describe, if you have time a pic would be great but Ill look more tomorrow after work as its dark out now.
Im gonna replace solenoid anyway, this one was pretty rusted but i cleaned it up, what will work with stock components and be good for when i do a 400 amp controller? |

Might be about time for a new piece of hose but still works perfect. Here’s a picture of how I did it.

That’s a good idea. I super glued a washer to the back of my pedal in that area. I actually regained some lost speed as well.

Cool I’ll look into that pedal and speed sensor as well.
Cart does have a speed magnet, can those be installed backwards or it doesn’t matter? |
