Just curious, is the engine locked up?

Re: G16 engine vs salt water
I'm no expert, but if there are no cracks and rest of the crankcase is not falling apart, the engine should still be fine.

Yea, however, how can I attach the front of the engine to the swing arm?

Can you take it to an aluminum welding shop?

Re: G16 engine vs salt water
Holly crap ! Just a thought from the peanut gallery. Looks like the is enough "meat" left to drill a hole in the center to attatch to the rear bracket. Still would use the motor mounts on the stock rear bracket. If a aluminum welder would touch it, they'd probably want the engine taken apart and cleaned like the dickens. Good luck.

I would think not, the material that is there is turning to a crumbling almost powder material. I will try to fabricate a steel top to encapsulate whats left of the lip.

Re: G16 engine vs salt water
Well what happens here near Myrtle Beach is a golf cart will not start for what ever reason, then it will sit for a time. The problem occurs if it sits in a low lying area near the beach, it can suffer many king high tides. 6 to 7 inches of water is very possible in certain areas. When I got this cart, it was rusted in half.
