No keys need to run? Coil getting hot after putting in 6 newish batters
So I bought this cart about a year ago or so and this weekend I went and got newish batters for it. After hooking it all up I noticed that the coil was getting hot while I was tightening the last nut. I figured it was just cause the brake wasn't set but the keys werent in it also. Then I put the key in and it drove then I took the keys out and drove it some more. Coil wasn't red hot but isn't the key suppose to kill the power to the coil and motor? Because I have kids I pulled a battery cable off so they don't jump in and go or crash it sents there all under 10 years old.
