Progressive springs sag after lift
Had a 6” lift and HD dual rate leaf springs just installed on Club Cab Tempo. Cart does have a backseat but has had no weight or crazy riding done in the 3 weeks I’ve had it.
Are the “ hd “ leafs supposed to bend like that or is it nature of the beast with the rear lift block? ( yes I know the u bolts looks crazy, I’ll be removing some nuts and cutting down the bolts in time!) |

Re: Progressive springs sag after lift
I'm about to do a 6" lift on an '05 DS that has the variable rate springs already on it. I'll be watching for this.

Re: Progressive springs sag after lift
This is my first club car so I’m not sure if it’s normal or not with the hd springs on 6” lift

Re: Progressive springs sag after lift
If you used the springs for "gas" carts that might be your issue. Electric carts have quite a bit more weight with the batteries and motor. Just a thought. I've never heard of HD springs having issues like that unless they were overloaded. Might call the dealer you bought them from. If you got those from Amazon or Ebay, they are probably China fakes and use low quality steel instead of high quality "spring steel" that doesn't bend. I've seen that before with the cheaper china parts. They don't care about quality and when you call for warranty they want you to ship back to China.........yeah right. Might as well buy another set.

Re: Progressive springs sag after lift
That looks like a very unprofessional installation with what appears to be generic U bolts.
Springs that are doing the "reverse" bow are not one's you wanna have. |

Re: Progressive springs sag after lift
I have a 2014 Club Car Precedent.. Lead batteries, All Sports 6 inch long travel.
I bought the HD Springs from GolfCartTireSupply and installed all the new lift and springs stuff at the same time. My springs are sagging too. I just contacted GCTS and they requested a photo so I sent them one today. My springs are flat, even when the cart is empty.. actually, there's an ever so slight backward curve but it's hard to photo. I'm wondering if someone produced a batch of bad steel or something. |
