Re: Equus 8086 Tach Pickup
I was hoping you would be more successful than I was.I even tried the much heavier cable co ax . But as in your case this was a spare pick up I bought so I went back to on the steering column mounting. I agree the big 8086 is very easy to read. Actually though I first wanted to use the smaller equus but read it probably would not work on the one cylinder clone.

It could be a high ohm wire. I like the shift light version but you do pay a few more for it. I have to make up my mind here and order something.

Re: Equus 8086 Tach Pickup
Well I lost my taste for certain types of digital number gauges. Digital tachometers and speedometers change so fast the numbers are a blur to see till you hold them steady. I just got my 8086 back in my truck and I'm replacing my speedometer with this so to match my 8086 .

Re: Equus 8086 Tach Pickup
On my yamaha G14 the lead from the VC 460 clone lets me mount to the steering coloum. On my sled powered HD cart I could only get as far as the dash compartment. As you seen in Shepard's thread here everything we tried to extend the tach pickup failed. My guess based on my 2 carts would be the lead is going to be short on your 6 seater.
