Default Removing the Steering Wheel

I have just removed my steering wheel with no effort using a bearing puller kit. The pics attached refer. I first drilled two 3/8 holes in the wheel housing for the puller legs to go thru, then attached the base and in two turns the wheel was off. This tool should be available to hire or maybe beg or borrow. All auto repair centres would have one. No collateral damage from the use of a hammer and the two holes are hardly noticeable if the wheel is to be re-used.

When I removed steering wheel from my CC DS, I put my feet on dash, kept steady pressure on bottom of steering wheel with both knees, loosened the retaining nut on steering wheel, popped the shaft/nut with a rubber mallet and steering wheel jumped off spline shaft effortlessly . . .

Steve, I agree mostly. I do work for a number of golf clubs and have used this method on steering wheels for some time on all brands of carts. But with about 90% success. There will be a few times when they are just stuck on too tight.
