New (To me) 48v Club Car

I bought my first cart a few weeks ago. I'm having allot of fun reading the posts in this forum learning about the mechanics.

My cart is a 2007 Club Car. #AQ0732-191703

It's a 48v, with four 12 volt batteries. The batteries are just a few months old. It has a 6" lift kit and 24" Dixie Chopper Tires.

Speed is good, torque is good. The only problem I have is that the cart sometimes cuts out. Sometimes on hills, sometimes on flat ground, sometimes with the accelerator all the way down, and sometimes when I'm just creeping along. Sometimes going forward, sometimes reverse. All I have to do to rectify the problem is let off the throttle completely, then re-engage it.

It's all original mechanically, and the inconsistency of the problem is making it hard to diagnose. Solenoid, controller, computer???? Any advice would be appreciated. I got a good deal on it, so I don't mind spending a few bucks to get it perfect.

Have you traced all wires are secure and seated at connectors?
Another thought is solenoid is dropping out.
With lift and big tires on a stock cart (i assume) you are pulling some amps to turn those tires.
Others will chime ...great techies on here!

Mcor, try turn key off press pedal about 40-50 times. If that helps it's the mcor.

sounds like the mcor to me very similar to the problem I had with my 03 ds

I would also suspect the MCOR, but not the resistance track, only the micro switch would cause a fault that requires a "pedal cycled" to clear.

You may want to jump the MCOR 2-pin connector to see if the problem goes away.

If it does, replace the MCOR.

Such problems can be relatively simple, or extensively complicated.
I have a cart sitting in the shop right now doing the same thing, but it does it under full accel within 50 feet. Cycling the pedal restarts it for another 50 feet, but if you do very low throttle it will have the main dropout in 2 feet. I've been probing and chasing electrical for almost 2 days now, and even ran it by Club Car's main trainer to no avail. I hope you find yours to be something simple like a loose cable or MCOR.

Ok, so I cycled the gas pedal 45 times and that seems to have helped allot. I drove it around this evening trying to replicate the power drop, and it only did it twice, as opposed to about 20 times last time I drove it.

What do you mean by "Jump" the pin? How would I do that?

I think you have nailed it to the MCOR it needs replaced. Check with David site sponsor Revlonation Carts.

MOCR jump

remove the 2 prong clip from MOCR under the cart
you have to squeeze the tabs in and pull hard
when removed take a wire or paper clip and insert it in the plug
try cart
if it works normal MOCR is bad
this is a MOCR

The correct part number for this application would be AM293101. It's the MCOR4 conversion kit. The MCOR1 on the vehicle now is no longer in production and must be converted to the new style MCOR4.
