Re: Icon i40 rebuild project
I got the control arm from Icon.
The old bushings have to be pressed out from the old control arm to be reused on the new arm. |

Re: Icon i40 rebuild project
I got tired of messing around with the rubber grease cap to keep in the grease for wheel bearings. Getting the original rubber caps into the metal ring was a real pain. I’m going with metal grease caps but the right measurement for this cart doesn’t exist. The axle hub is 1.88” and the closest cap size is 1.943”. I will probably have to lightly remove some material from the hub to get the 1.943” on there.

Re: Icon i40 rebuild project
I had dremel out the hub from 1.85 to about 1.90 and the 1.943 grease caps fit.
I bought a sheet of 3/8” black ABS and stainless steel mesh to repair the floor pan. ABS is surprisingly easy to work with when using a heat gun to bend and it’s strong. Theres tons of YouTube videos explaining how to use this stuff. I experimented with plastic welding, abs glue, and epoxy to repair floor pan. I found a combo of plastic welding the stainless steel mesh and tack welding it in, then using epoxy (JB weld for plastic) was best. The stainless steel mesh though is the game changer when adding strength to plastic repairs. |

Re: Icon i40 rebuild project
My father ran his Icon I40 into a tree and has similar damage the the steering box. You mentioned the G29 steering box didn't work and found an Icon one on eBay. I can't find one on Ebay. Please provide part number, etc. to improve my search. THanks
