Default Alltrax sr48500 speed

Just finished converting a 36 volt series TXT to 48volts with sr48500, hd f&r switch, HD Solenoid and 2awg cable’s. 23” tires and getting 18 mph top speed. Does this sound about right? Or should I see a little more??

The top speed of a stock TXT series drive is 13-14 MPH.

Going from 36V to 48V ought to up the speed by 33.3%, or 18.6MPH.

Going from stock height (18") tires to 23" tall tires ought to increase speed by 27.8%, for a grand total of 23.8MPH.

Of course the cart won't reach that theoretical speed because the 23" tire height also reduces the torque by 21.7%, but it should be doing over 20MPH, so something is holding you back.

Bad bearings, dragging brake shoes, low pressure tires, etc.

I assume you are running the stock 36v motor? If that is true then it sounds about right to me. The Medalist in my signature tops out about 17mph. If your tires are low pressure type, that will keep your speed down a bit too.

My bone stock (drive system wise) '96 TXT Series cart runs 17mph on flat ground. With all those upgrades you should definitely be more than just 1mph faster.

There were two "stock" (factory installed) motors available for a series drive TXT. Fleet speed (73124G02) and high speed (731245G03)

The EZGO published speeds spec for the carts with the fleet speed motor is 13-14 MPH.
The EZGO published speeds spec for the carts with the high speed motor is 17-18 MPH.

Sounds like your cart came off the assembly line with the high speed motor.
