Default Cut and reweld spindle to get 4" lift?

Has anyone ever cut the spindle off and welded a 4" piece of solid stock inbetween to get a 4" lift? The spindle is already welded together it seems like it otta work.

Did you heat the leg up and bend an offset or just weld it on at an angle?

Here's a follow up with final pictures.
I measured all angles, built a jig to move the spindle 2" forward, 2" out, and 6" down. Cut the spindle off and bolted it in the jig and had a friend weld it for me. The extension is 1" solid stock which he makes gun barrels with.

I have only been on one other lifted cart and that is my Dad's stealth. I would say it handles about the same as stock except for the bump steering I posted about. Just plain ol driving around I guess its fine, it tracks strait @ 19mph on the blacktop.

Looks like you did a fine job. Its the same as any other spindle lift...just taken to extremes. On my Club car with Jakes spindle there is some bumpsteer entering ditches or potholes. Its fine the way it is but its not for serious off-roading, more of a RV park queen if anything.
