Female needs help with 89 club car wiring-WONT MOVE!

Praying someone can help. Bought an 89 Club Car v-glide the prior owner converted to 48v and I removed Controller/wiring to turn it back to 36v as it was intended, since the charger was only for 36v.
I have tried desperately to wire it correctly, to no avail. I got an excellent deal on 3 12V golf cart batteries, and can’t afford 6 6v, so my wiring has to be done on 3 which makes things more confusing! I’ve read this forum for days, read the diagrams, etc. I have a voltmeter, but not even sure what I’m doing with it to help narrow down the problem.
Why am I in this mess? I’m a single mom trying to surprise my Dad. His was stolen and I got a good deal on it. But it does me no good if I can’t get it started. Someone, PLEASE HELP😥

Also should add, Ive put in a new micro switch, and took out his 48v solenoid and replaced. The new solenoid has a resistor on it, not sure if that should stay on bc the old one didn’t have one

Resistor is only needed if it has a controller.

Are you just needing to know how to connect the batteries?

And just stating this so you will know, you were much better off with the 48v controller cart and could have picked up an old Lester or other 48v charger fairly cheap.

So glad someone is out there, this forum is very helpful. No, it’s not just the battery wiring (I’ve had golf carts in the past, so I know how to wire them in series), just never did it with 3 12v and I know certain wires have to go to the #1 and #6 (in my case # 3 battery), so not sure how to wire them.
My other questions are:
The white thicker lead going from V glide, does that go to positive lg terminal on solenoid (the old solenoid didn’t have pos/neg labeled on it, but the new one does). I’ve read from this forum that the polarity on the posts doesn’t matter, but this 36v solenoid has a positive marked on one of lg terminals.
My other issue is wiring the key switch. I’m confused bc one diagram shows the wire going to bottom left of F&R switch and the other shows it going to where the charger receptacle is. I’ve wired carts before, but this one has me baffled. Yes, I know I would have been better off with a 48 v cart, but my dad is elderly and only using at camp so I needed him to be able to charge it and don’t have a 48v Charger.

So, my solenoid has one large terminal from bottom left F &R switch, other large terminal white one goes to V glide. The small post yellow goes to micro switch (F&R), and green goes to the top spot on V glide micro. I’ve done this, with key switch 1 going to micro switch (F&R) and keyswitch 2 going to top right side of Receptacle(also connected red wire from this spot to bottom left F&R). I’m so confused bc my carts in the past have always had solenoid connected to battery, this one doesn’t. I get nothing when I turn switch, it won’t run at all

I want to add that a user on this forum mentioned how the keyswitch wiring changed from diagram on some models, wondering if that’s what my problem is.
My batteries are all charged, my connections to the batteries are tight. But nothing is happening. Also important, the reverse buzzer was missing on my cart so I had to disregard that (bypassed) when following wiring diagrams

Also, it’s too late for me to turn it back to 48v, wiring all removed and controller given away, so not an option

When I cross the 2 lg terminals with screwdriver, there’s spark but when I test it all with my circuit tester, the solenoid switches all make my tester light up red except one bolt shows green (no clue if this helps diagnose), My key switch is so red with the tester, and very few things light up green

I'm confused.

So you reinstalled the resistor coil bank. Changed the v Glide back to a v Glide with contacts and no tiny resistors in it. You then connected cables to the large resistor coil bank and v Glide.

Is this correct?
