Default New Serie 06 - Couple Basic Questions

Clicked "check out" and the doorbell rang! Thanks CPP!

Lose part sound when I move around in my hand? Please tell me it is normal.
Sticker on clutch says modification required?
Tap size for 1" shaft?
Grade 5 bolt OK?
Should I lock tight?

Thank You, Trent

Grade 5 is fine.

Loose sound is normal it's the weights.

Because "some modification may be required to fit different applications"

Tap size? What engine? Vanguard or clone 3/8-16 (usually) Honda M10-1.25

Yes, blue locktite.

Trent
The noise you hear is a shim on the shaft, It is normal. Most crankshafts are tapped fine thread 3/8-24, 7/16-20, 1/2-20 some are even 5/16-24 and then there's the metrics. It all depends what motor was built for originally. 3/8-24 and 10 mm are the most common. Bolt length will be determined by whether you need a spacer between clutch and engine block to get proper belt alignment.

Would the series 6 be a good replacement for the 780 behind my Honda V twin? My comet is sticking badly and doesn't want to spool up.

Yes it's a great replacement.

If the 780 is sticking, pop the cover off and lube it up.

There is a manual at the top of the Big Block section.

Thanks I downloaded the manual and printed it out. So now I will pull the guard off and see what I can do.

I'd never loctite a clutch on, is there a special reason for this? I've had to remove them, some are not pretty as its very difficult to heat the crank that far in. I've worked on a lot of sleds and you never put anything on the taper or bolt, never put on my carts either. Only thing I ever did was put some wd40/etc on a rag and wipe the crank, then wipe it off before install. Very very thin film can help corrosion issues over the long term but you are not supposed to have anything on it. I've never had a problem doing that. If you have a problem with the taper you should lap it in.

06 is a straight shaft clutch. Loctite goes on the bolt thread and nowhere else they can vibrate loose. Not really an issue with a taper shaft.

You can put antisieze on the shaft if you plan to ride in wet/salty conditions.
