Precedent brake light switch power comes from??
I am installing an Ultimate light kit on an 04 Precedent. Everything wporks exceppt the brake lights. They do work with the hazards so I figured it to be simple and it is. The red wire under the floor panel which feeds power to the brake light circuit is dead. Where does the power to this wire come from?? I see a 15A fuse under the panel between the batteries but it is good and has power on both sides of the fuse.

Re: Precedent brake light switch power comes from??
HELP PLEASE. Very similar situation.
Connected Ultimate light kit on 2006 Electric Club Car Precedent. Lights, horn, turn signals all work properly. NOW However comes the issue. Connecting break light assembly - No electric current coming from the red wire to feed electric to the brake light wiring assembly. The fuse in the fuse housing appears to be good, however we changed it to be sure it was. Still no power. Is there something we're missing like another fuse somewhere or what. And we tried with the key on and with the key off. I hope someone can help. PLEASE! Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Also does anyone have a wiring diagram of the 2006 Electric club car precedent Thanks, and if so please send to judinbud@yahoo.com |

Re: Precedent brake light switch power comes from??
We've connected the Ultimate light kit - lights, horn, turn signals all work properly.
This is on a 2006 Electric Club Car Precedent. Now comes the PROBLEM. Attempted to install brake light wiring assembly. However no electric current coming from the red wire. Found the fuse housing - fuse looked good but we changed it to be sure. Still no current. Tried with the key on and with the key off. No current. PLEASE Help. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Hope I'm not posting wrong. Couldn't find anywhere else to post this. Also does anyone have a wiring diagram on the 2006 Electric Club Car Precedent. If so, could you please send a copy to judinbud@yahoo.com. Thanks so much. |

I feel for ya man...I never did figure out where that wire got its power from...hang in there, someone will be along who may have the answer....also, remember no one says you cant run another switched power wire to feed that red wire...keep it simple.

Re: Precedent brake light switch power comes from??
I know this is an old post but people look at these looking for answers. The power to the brake lights comes from the gray wire behind the dash with the bullet plug on it. The main wiring harness for the cart and the light harness each have a gray wire that needs to be connected to provide power to the brake light switch under the floor.
