Curtis controller "contactor welded"
Afternoon, been reading forum for days and think I have a bad controller but want to verify.
96 club car ds. Was intermittently stopping end of last year and first trip out this year died completely while driving. Get sputtering sound in reverse, but no power either way. Been spending days reading and testing. Ruled out OBC, solenoid clicks so think that is good, get good voltage from controller to battery pack, dont see any loose wires on f/r, all batteries are checked. Dowloaded Curtis trouble shooting and am a little confused because I am not too smart. I believe step 1-d says connect voltmeter to B- and B+ and if I have a full pack reading my "contactor has welded and must be replaced". After so much reading, I had not seen this test mentioned on here- is it just so common it is assumed I know, or am I reading these instructions wrong? Sorry if I am missing something simple on my search. Thank you for any advice- hoping the controller is bad and I can just replace it and be done. |
