I am trying to figure out my father in law's charging issue. He has an 09 precedent and a power drive 2 charger. When we plug the charger into the cart, the charger clicks on, but the meter goes backwards past the zero, then the breaker on the charger trips. I checked the obvious things, battery cables tight and clean, R/T switch in tow, key off, connections at the cart and the wall plug are good. Wall outlet checks out fine. I am stumped, but I also have Ezgo carts, I have little to no knowledge of Club Cars.

50+ V on the red and blue wires so relay should be clicking.

48v+ across batteries

Charger works fine if I bypass the relay

Only thing strange to me is red and black going to charger is 38ishV, does that have something to do with it? Shouldn't that be the same as acrossed the batteries

Or did I just happen to get a second bad relay?

Help i have two 48 volt chargers 1 Power drive 3 & a power drive 2
neither turn on the PD 3 has a square I believe is a Diode with 4 terminals when I received it the wires going to diode were loose what terminals do the 4 wires go to on diode there is ac, +, neg, the other I cannot find a marking for it on diode 3 of the terminals are the same direction the 4th is opposite ( the PD 2 also has this diode ) I know one must go to fuse
The PD 3 has a relay on a circuit board the PD 2 just has a relay
I have tested with charger unplug from ac and plug into cart both read 50 + volts ( testing on 2016 Precedent ) at across blue & red wires PD 2 at two small wires off of small terminals remover from relay same PD 3 red and blue removed red from one side of meter the blue from one side of circuit board
any help would be appreciated schematic of DIODE would help I believe
