Default Would AGM starting battery play nice with G29 gasser?

I live in Arizona and the heat is brutal on batteries. In our cars, we're lucky to get four years. Newer cars are coming with AGM batteries and they are doing much better with their lifespan. The starting battery in my cart is of unknown age and a deep cycle although holds a charge just fine but I know the day is coming. Wondering if an AGM would work well with our somewhat primitive charging systems or a regular FLA group 24 is still the best bet. AGM is more expensive but if good for 5-6 years, well worth the investment. Thanks.
