1990 rear axle bearing replacement
I’ve have a hard time finding information on how to remove and replace the outer rear axle bearings on my 1990 G8 electric cart. I have both shafts removed. The bearing is pressed onto the shaft then the hub is pressed on and welded to the shaft. There is a shoulder on the differential side of the shaft that will not allow the bearing to press off that side. Looks to me like the only way to remove bearing is to grind or machine the weld off the hub and press hub off of the shaft. If so this is a very poor design. Any advice or help would be appreciated.
