Default Is it time for batteries???

I have a 2017 Yahama that I need some advice on. I think that it needs batteries but would like a second opinion. While driving, the cart will sound off "beep" and then roll to a stop as it dies. It will not go until I lift the seat and rock the tow switch back and forth. Then I hear a "click" (I assume that's the solenoid) then it will drive again for a short while. I installed a battery meter today and it reads fully charged. As I drive it drops down a few bars. If I floor it, the meter drops down to orange and then red and then "Beep" and then shuts off.

I placed a volt meter on each battery and they all read 8.2 or 8.4.

Thoughts?

Thanks for your assistance,

Dean

Sounds like batteries that are sagging too much under load. You need to load test them - get a voltage reading when the cart is pulling hard - near where you have the problem. If those are original batteries, you are due for new ones.

being 6 years old doesnt really mean they are bad in itself depending on use... batteries could be 6 months old and junk if the PO let them go completely dead or didnt add water for too long. You need to test or replace them to know. The batteries I removed form my cart a few months ago were from 2012 and 2014 and still worked...(with a shorter range)

those bar style meters are useless , you need a digital one so you know exactly where your at .

I agree, get rid of the bar meter. I doesn't give you a true picture of your battery status.
