burning up wires help!!!
Im fixing an old harley golf cart and when it runs it burns the wires up on A1
to the voltage regulator post D- . I replaced all the wires and before I tried again I continuity checked the A1 and A2 wires to D- and D + on the voltage regulator. If the carts not in neutral the A 1 and A 2 wires show short to ground! Is this normal? Should the voltage regulator have an insulator plate on it? I dont want to hook it up till I know! |

Re: burning up wires help!!!
Well I think your wire is just too small and yes it should be shorted to ground since neutral is the stop precision so a kid or animal doesn’t accidentally push the gas and the cart drives away into a tree

Re: burning up wires help!!!
Some good detailed pictures of the internals on the cart may help us to diagnose...
