Default Rust-oleum Rattle Can Paint Job

Hello to all,

Looking for some input on the process I am going to try on my 89' club car golf cart. The cart has been spray painted once before although it obviously was not done correctly. So please give me some feedback on the products I have chose and the process in which I am applying.

-Sanding old paint off 230 grit - looks like is was spray painted blue then white.

-Bondo deep scratches and sand - **Is Bondo the best for golf cart, or plastic??

-Rust-oleum Primer / Adhesion promoter - 3 coats
-Rust-oleum Black Gloss Protective Enamel - 3 coats
** Is it recommended to do a clear coat? Or just buff the color with compound??
-Wet sand 1200-1500 grit
-Buff with compound - Thinking Maguire's**
-WAX - Maguire's

Thank you for the input

Sounds like an OK plan to me. Why not use Rustoleum automotive paint for the final finish?

Are you referring to the rustoleum automotive clear for final? I am not sure what to do about a finish coat, I seen with the Enamels no clear needed just buff buff buff!!

Thanks

This cart is more bondo and filler than body panels. Looked like the cart had been through a barb-wire fence. Had been spiked on several occasions. But as you mentioned: body work, prime, paint(Rust-oleum professional) wet sand to 1500, buffing compound, wax buff, hand wax.

I was going to clear-coat but after the wet sand buff I was very pleased with the finish.
