Default DS deluxe light kit- NO tailites??

i just purchased a deluxe light kit for a 2001 DS. The kits has headlites, tail lites, turn signals, horn, fuse panel, brake lites and wiring harness.

So i installed the entire kit, with little help from the crappy directions.

The kit was pretty self explanatory. So i installed it, evereything works but the tail lites.

The brake lites work, the parking lite times out, both rear blinkers woek, but no tail lites???

Everthing just plugs together. Rear lites have a 3 wire connector, one is ground, one is turn signal, and other is brake lites ( i guess).

Does anyone have suggestions why the tail lites won't work? Its strange since the brake lites and signals work.
I really don't want to start cutting open this entire wiring harness, and can't find a diagram of the wires inside this harness.

Any help?

Check the wiring at the big disconnect of turn signal switch for loose connection of any wires on both sides of connector. I have found one wire pulled out before.

Do the tail lights use incandescent bulbs or are they LED?

The way my lights are wired is this.

Brake light red wire
Tail light. Brown wire

Neg for both is white wire.

This may help.

Reading your first post you said the parking light times out. That should be the brake light timer. The wire to the parking lights likely should go to the brake lights.

Thinking about it, you may have the connectors for the back and front reversed.

The tail lites are led, The front lites look like they are the h7 37 watt bulbs.

The harness fits perfect, so i am sure that the harness is installed correctly.

What i am calling "parking lites ", is when you lock the brake pedal, the rear lites go on and will time off. So that appears to be correct.

Everything seems to be working fine, except when i pull the lite switch, there are no lites in the rear. Both rear blinkers work, the rear brake lites work, and the rear "parking" lites work, so you would think all 3 wires are intact from the front to the back, inside the harness.

Since there is no wiring diagram, only a : harness routing diagram", you can't tell what color the wires are, except at the places where they individually exit the harness.

Somehow, when you pull on the lite switch ( 2 red wires), it has to make a connection to the rear. this harness is all coiled and taped and tywrapped now, so am hoping to not have to tear it all back out and strip the harness down to expose the wires.
