Default Any 36v lithiums to avoid

I’m trying to stay as close to $1000-1200 on a 36v lithium battery. There are a few on Amazon. Should I beware of any in particular ?

Stay away from anything that has less than a 100 max amperage draw.
A single big battery is better than many small batteries.

Stay away from 3 x 12v batteries.

^ I agree 2 or 3 36v batteries in parallel are typically ok but 12v lithiums in a series do not work well long term you will have balancing issues and since they are designed for rv and solar storage they typically only have 100amp or less continuous current capability.

epoch makes a good kit for a great price. alothough I encourage you to think about upgrading to 48v before making this purchase. it made a huge difference for me and my old 36v g8.

https://buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=189613 these are nice because you can add more capacity later if you want.

I am hard considering the 48v upgrade but $$ is a deal breaker.
I am currently looking at the Epoch 36v/50ah battery. $1300 Will 50ah (I.e.1 battery) haul 2 guys (#500) to deer stands for a 5 mi round trip twice a day with 1 small hill to get out.
OR Dakota 36v/60ahwith charger$1500

Thanks I have learned so much here in just a few days.

50Ah is not a lot, especially at 36v. Continuous/max currents on both of those batteries, although impressive for their size, could be pushing the limit on a 36v cart carrying a bit of weight.

I can’t say for certain if either of those batteries will be adequate, but I will say both are borderline for your application.

If your cart is modified, then I would say no way.

You're looking to go 20 miles per day on one charge with a battery that has 50AH or another that has 60AH?

IMHO you're looking to get stuck in the woods on that second trip.

Since budge $$$ are a big consideration (and when is that not a big consideration?) I would say either save up some more $$$ and buy a battery with adequate AH (over 100) or simply buy a new set of FLA's. If you buy a battery with less AH than you need, or a "cheap" lithium battery, you will be looking at "bad days" of hunting caused by your cart demanding more than your battery can deliver.

You could always go diy contrary to belief it's not rocket science to wire up a bms.. then you could build a 105ah 48v pack for around 1500

I would do a search in the Extreme lithium section, here a link to the pack I built.. https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=188399

Places like the battery hookup have deals that pop up all the time on used but tested cells.
